Meet Scout.

She’s a 3 year old rescued “supermutt” from Tennessee. Her unique mix of breeds – retrievers and terriers – makes her incredibly intelligent and goal focused.

Scout was trained under world renowned canine trainer Bill Whitstine, at the Florida Canine Academy. Bill has over 30 years of experience training and producing top canines in the fields of  mold, bombs, money, weapons, and accelerant detection. At the Academy, Scout received over 1000 hours of specialized training following the same standards and methods used to train ATF arson, bombs, and narcotics canines.

One of the pack.

While she loves her day job and thrives on her tasks, she is also a beloved member of our family. When not working, she loves lounging in the sun, playing with our other dogs, and going on hikes in and around Ojai, CA – our sweet home base.

Our story.

Katie Cook brings a lifelong dedication to the care and well-being of animals into this next chapter of her work — combining her passion for animals with a commitment to helping people. After experiencing mold issues in her own home and navigating the challenges of traditional testing methods, she recognized the need for a more precise, non-invasive approach. That experience led to the creation of Canine Mold Inspection, with a clear mission: to provide clarity, confidence, and peace of mind to those facing mold concerns.
